The number of solutions of the equation –

|x|^2 – 3 |x|+ 2 = 0 is

Solution:

From the question,

|x|^{2}-3|x|+2=0

|x|^{2}-|x|-2|x|+2=0

|x|[|x|-1]-2[|x|-1]=0

[|x|-1][|x|-2]=0

|x|=1

|x|=2

Hence,

x=± 1

x=± 2

Thus, number of solution will be 4
