Ecological or biotic succession is an orderly and evolutionary process of community development in a habitat (area.). The first community to inhibit an area (habitat) is known as pioneer community and the succession is primary autotrophic succession. Which is characterised by series of natural changes in continued dominance of autotrophic organism (pioneers) like lichen and green plants.
