Taiga forest are temprate coniferous forest of Northern hemisphere.It is known as North woods and is characterised by consisting of needle leaved evergreen trees. In India such are found in Himalayas over 2000−3000 metres altitude. Taiga includes economically important gymnosperms like Pinus (pine), Cedrus (deodar), Cupressus (cypress), etc.
