The callus or suspension culture experiment using different proportion of phytohormone (auxin and cytokinin) were performed by Skoog and Miller. They demonstrated that cells of callus developed roots when the callus was grown/supplied higher amount of auxin and lesser amount of cytokinin. On other hand cells of callus developed shoots when culture medium/callus was grown in higher amount of cytokinin and lower amount of auxin.
