15 x^{2}-26 x+8=(A x+B)(C x+D)

are positive integers, then what is the value of

(2 A+B-C-2 D) ?

Solution:

15 x^{2}-26 x+8=(A x+B)(C x+D)

⇒15 x^{2}-20 x-6 x+8

=(A x+B)(C x+D)

⇒5 x(3 x-4)-2(3 x-4)

=(A x+B)(C x+D)

⇒(3 x-4)(5 x-2)

=(A x+B)(C x+D)

On comparing both sides,

A=3, B=-4, C=5, D=-2

Now,

2 A+B-C-2 D

=2(3)+(-4)-5-2 ×(-2)

=6-4-5+4

=10-9=1
