Resources are anything that has utility and adds value to our life. Air, water, food, plants, animals, minerals, metals, and everything else that exists in nature and has utility to mankind is a 'Resource'. The value of each such resource depends on its utility and other factors.
Not all resources have economic value. Time and technology are two important factors that can change substances into resources as resources take much time to be replenished and through technology we harness valuable resources.
