(c) 'D' and 'L' indicates relative configuration of a particular carbohydrate.
'D' represent the position of 2 nd last −OH group in any carbohydrate.
If the 2 nd last −OH is present on the right side it is called 'D' type configuration and if present to the left-side, it is called 'L' type configuration.
