The speed of microprocessors, called the clock speed, is measured in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). Current microprocessor speed is measured in gigahertz (GHz), or billions of cycles per second. The higher the value, the faster the microprocessor, with average speeds between 2.0 GHz (slower) and 4.0 GHz (faster).
