If N is divided into a : b, then
First part = N × a/(a + b)
Second part = N × b/(a + b)
Calculation:
Share of the first person, the second person and the third person = 4x : 9x : 2x
According to the question
$9\mathit{x}\mathit{–}4\mathit{x}=1200$
$\Rightarrow 5\mathit{x}=1200$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=1200/5$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=240$
∴ Share of the third person $=2\times 240=\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.480$
