Let, the number of extra men be 'x'.
According to the formula $\frac{{\mathit{M}}_1{\mathit{D}}_1}{{\mathit{W}}_1}$ = $\frac{{\mathit{M}}_2{\mathit{D}}_2}{{\mathit{W}}_2}$
Here, ${\mathit{M}}_1$ = 45, ${\mathit{D}}_1$ = 100, ${\mathit{W}}_1$ = 2.5, ${\mathit{M}}_2$ = 45 + x , ${\mathit{D}}_2$ = 200 and ${\mathit{W}}_2$ = 12.5
⇒ $\frac{45\times 100}{2.5}$ = $\frac{\left(45+\mathit{x}\right)\times 200}{12.5}$
⇒ (45 + x) = $\frac{45\times 100\times 12.5}{2.5\times 200}$
⇒ x = 112.5 - 45
⇒ x = 67.5
⇒ x = 68 (approx)
∴ Number of extra men required is 68.
