Solution:

Let the present age of Rahul and Reshmi be 2x and x years respectively; then

{2x+30}/{x+30}

⇒ 12x + 180 = 7x + 210
⇒ 5x = 30
∴ x = 6
Hence, present age of Rahul = 2 × 6 = 12 years
