Solution:

Here,

x^2 + y^2

= 41 and also xy = 20; then

(x + y)^2

x^2 + y^2

+ 2xy = 41 + 2 × 20 = 81
∴ x + y = 9 cm
Hence, perimeter = 2 (x + y) = 2 × 9 = 18 cm
