Directions : Study the paragraph and answer the questions that follow.
There are three popular institutes in a city, namely, A, B and C. The number of students studying in institute A is 20 less than the average number of students studying in institutes B and C, while the number of students studying in institute C is 1320, out of which 970 are males. The male-to-female ratio of institutes A and B is 13 ∶ 3 and 11 ∶ 21 respectively.
For higher studies in abroad, 45% of the students of the three institutes applied for scholarships in various programs, 60% of which were males. 6/17 of the total students that applied were from the institute C, and the number of students applied for scholarship from institute A were 30 less than the number of students applying from institute C.
The number of students applying for scholarship from institute B were 12 less than 80% of the students applying from institute A. Out of the total number of students that applied for scholarship, only 30% got the scholarship to study abroad, with a male-to-female ratio of 9 ∶ 8. Out of the selected students, 50% of the girls were selected in the Economics stream, while 25% of the remaining girls were selected in the Science stream. On the other hand, 2/9 of the boys were selected in the Economics stream and 2/3 of the boys were selected in the Science stream.
