A shopkeeper cheats to the extent of 10 % while buying and selling fruits, by using tampered weights. His total gain, in percentage, is:

Solution:

(1) Let the original weight be 1000units
He increases 10% weight, i.e. 1000+ 10% of 1000 = 1100
He then sells it and gives only 990gm
So, the profit earned will be 100 +110 = 210 gm

210/1000

× 100 = 21%
