A bus and a car are both travelling in the same direction. At time t hours, the bus is ahead of the car by 30 km. The speed of bus is 60 km/h. At time t+2 hours, it is observed that the car is ahead of the bus by 100 km. What is the speed of car?

(4) Initial positions of car and bus at time t:

Let’s combine the pictorial representations of the above two cases:

It is clear from the combined representation that the car travelled a distance of (30 + 120+100) = 250 km in two hours
∴ Speed of car

=250/2= 125

km/h
