Father’s present age= 5x years
Son’s present age = 2x years 4 years hence,
Mother’s age = 2y years
Son’s age = y years
∴ y = 2x + 4
Mother’s present age = 2y – 4
= 2 (2x + 4) – 4
= 8x + 4
∴ Father : Mother
= 5x : 8x + 4
