According to the 2011 Census,Maharashtra has highestnumber of people living in urbanareas (5.08 crores).Maharashtra state has 45.23per cent of the urban population.With these figures,Maharashtra ranks the thirdmost urbanised states in thecountry, behind Tamil Nadu(48.45%) and Kerala (47.72%).
