Let the numerator and denominator of the fraction be x and y, respectively.
According to the question,
∵ $\frac{\mathit{x}+5}{\mathit{y}}=\frac{6}{5}$
⇒ $5\mathit{x}+25=6\mathit{y}$
⇒ $5\mathit{x}-6\mathit{y}=-25$ ...(i)
∵ $\frac{\mathit{x}}{\mathit{x}+4}=\frac{1}{2}$
⇒ $2\mathit{x}=\mathit{y}+4$
⇒ $2\mathit{x}-\mathit{y}=4$ ...(ii)
On solving Eqs. (i) and (ii),
x = 7 ,y =10
∴ Required fraction $=\frac{\mathit{x}}{\mathit{y}}=\frac{7}{10}$
