Solution:

sec (3x -20°)= cosec (3y + 20°)
⇒sec (3x -20°)= cosec (90° - 3y - 20°)
⇒ 3x - 20° = 90° - 3y - 20°
⇒ 3x + 3y = 90°
⇒ 3(x + y ) = 90°
⇒x + y =30°
∴ tan(x + y ) = tan 30° =

1/√3
