If an equilateral triangle has side 12 cm, then what is the difference (in cm) between the circumradius and inradius ?

Solution:

Circumradius

= {12}/{√ {3}}

Inradius

= {12}/{2 √{3}}= {6}/{\√ {3}}

\∴

Required difference

= {12}/{√{3}}- {6}/{√{3}}= {6}/{√ {3}}=2 √ {3} {\cm}
