A, B and C can finish a job working alone in 72,24 and 36 days, respectively. In how many days they can finish the job if they worked together?

Solution:

According to the question,
A’s 1 day work

=1/72

B‘s 1 day work =

1/24

and C’s 1 day work

=1/36

∴ (A + B + C)‘s 1 day work

={1}/{72}+ {1}/{24}+\ {1}/{36}

= {1+3+2}/{72}= {6}/{72}= {1}/{12}

∴ ‘.(A + B + C) can finish the work in 12 days
