Solution:

(4) Let

(x_{1}, y_{1} )=(x,-5)

and

(x_{2}, y_{2} )=(-5,3)

∵ Slope of line

A B=m=- {4}/{3}

By formula,

m= {y_{2}-y_{1}}/{x_{2}-x_{1}}

⇒

{-4}/{3}= {3+5}/{-5-x}

⇒

{-4}/{3}= {8}/{-5-x}

⇒

20+4 x=24

⇒

4 x=24-20=4

∴

x=4/4=1
