Aurobindo Ghose is related to the Alipore bomb conspiracy case, an important court trial, during May 1908 to May 1909. Aurobindo was arrested on charges of planning and overseeing the attack. However, he was eventually acquitted in1909. His defence counsel was Chittaranjan Das.
