Asif is twice as good as workman as Bashir and together they finish a piece of work in 30 days. In how many days will Asif alone finish the work?

Solution:

Let time taken to complete the work by Ashif = x days
∴ Time taken to complete the work by Bashir = 2x days
According to the question,

1/x+1/{2x}=1/30

⇒

3/{2x}=1/30

∴ x = 45 days
