The mission of 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) is to achieve the goal of Housing for All in urban areas by 2022. It (launched in 2015) is a flagship mission of government of India being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. It addresses urban housing shortage among the EWS/LIG/MIG categories including the slum dwellers by ensuring a Pucca house to all eligible urban household by $2022.$
