The range of intensity scale used in measuring earthquakes is 1 to 12.
Mercalli Scale is used to measure the intensity of the earthquake. It is measured by analyzing the after effects like how many people felt it. how much destruction occurred etc.
The intensity of earthquake will be highest in the epicenter and decreases as one moves away.
