Solution:

Smith's one day work

Ajit's one day work

={1}/{18}

If they work together, then their 4 days

=4({1}/{12}+{1}/{18})

=4({3+2}/{36})

=4 ×{5}/{36}={5}/{9}

∴ Work left

=1-{5}/{9}={4}/{9}
