The length of the diagonal of a rectangle is 26 cm and that of one side is 10 cm. What is the area of this rectangle?

Solution:

Let breadth of the rectangle

= 10 cm and diagonal

Let length of rectangle =

Using,

(l)^2+(b)^2=(d)^2

⇒(l)^2+(10)^2=(26)^2

⇒(l)^2 =676-100=576

⇒l=√{576}=24cm

∴ Area of rectangle =

l \times b

=24×10=240cm^2
