Solution:

√x+1/√x=√6

squaring on both side

⇒x+1/x-2=6

⇒x+1/x=6+2=8

Again, squaring on both side

⇒x^2+1/x^2+2=64

⇒x^2+1/x^2+2=64

⇒x^2+1/x^2=62
