When a copper plate is exposed to moist air for long, it acquires a dull green coating. The green material is

copper sulphate

Solution:

(4) The green material is a mixtureof copper carbonate and copperhydroxide. On exposing copperplate to moist air, copper reactswith air to form copper carbonateand copper hydroxide.
