General rules to measures accuracy of material are- (a) The dimensions shall be taken to the nearest 0.01 m except for - ● Woodwork to the nearest 0.002 m ● Thickness of slab which shall be measured to the nearest 0.005 m. ● Structural steelworks to the nearest 0.001 m, and ● Thickness of roadwork (where the thickness is less than 200 mm) to the nearest 0.005 m. (b) Areas shall be worked out to the nearest 0.01 sq m. For steelworks, areas excluding cross-sectional measurements shall he worked out to the nearest 0.001 sqm. (c) Cubic contents shall be worked out to the nearest 0.01 cu m except for woodwork, which shall be worked out to the nearest 0.001 cu m. (d) Weights shall be worked out to nearest 1.0 kg.
