SSC JE Civil Engineering 2017 Set 4 Solved Paper

Nominal shear stress is calculated first at the critical section which should be less than the Maximum Shear Stress given in Table 20 of IS 456 : 2000.
Then Design shear strength of concrete is taken from Table 19 of IS 456:2000 corresponding to given grade of concrete and % of longitudinal tension reinforcement.
Based on the values of Nominal shear stress and Design shear strength of concrete, shear reinforcement is provided for the design shear force.
