P = VI

V = V_m \sinωt

I = I_m \sin(ωt – 90)

for pure inductive circuit current lag the supply voltage.

P = V_m \sinωt × I_n \sin(ωt -90)

= V_m I_m \sinωt \cosωt(-1)

-1/2V_m I_m \sin2ωt
