Pressure of bottom surface ≈ total head of water ‘h’
Pressure on side wall ≈ average head $\approx \frac{\mathit{h}}{2}$ Net force on side wall = Pressure (side) × Area (side)
$=\frac{\mathit{h}}{2}\times 4\times 2=4\mathit{h}$
Net force on bottom floor = Pressure (bottom) × A (bottom)
$=\mathit{h}\times 2\times 2=4\mathit{h}$
hence ratio $=\frac{{\mathit{F}}_{\mathrm{side}}}{{\mathit{F}}_{\mathrm{bottom}}}=\frac{4\mathit{h}}{4\mathit{h}}=1$
