A hybrid stepping motor has eight poles which have been castellated to have six teeth each. If the rotor has 60 teeth, calculate the stepping angle.

Solution:

Given that,

\N _{ \r }=60

\N _{ \S }=8 × 6=48

∴ stepping angle can be calculated as

\β={( \N _{ \s }- \N _{ \r }) × 360°}/{( \N _{ \s } ×\N _{ \r })}

={(60-48) ×360°}/{(60 ×48)}=1.5°
