If the area and perimeter of a rectangle are respectively 128

cm^2

and 48 cm, then the length of the diagonal of the rectangle (in cm) is

Solution:

ab=128cm^2

a+b=48/2=24cm

a^{2}+b^{2}=(a+b)^{2}-2ab=(24)^{2}-2×128

=576-256=320

∴ Diagonal

=√{a^2+b^2}=√320=8√5cm
