Two persons A and B enter into partnership with capitals in the ratio 3 : 4. At the end of 3 months A withdraws. If they receive the profits in the ratio 1 :4 . how long B's capital was used ?

Solution:

Let B’s investment be for x months
Ratio of equivalent capitals,

\A:\B=(3×3):(4×x)=9:4x

Ratio of profit = Ratio of equivalent capitals

⇒1/4=9/{4x}∴x=9

months
