If the ratio of the areas of two squares is 4:7 then the ratio of the perimeters of the squares is?

Solution:

Let the sides of the two squares be

s_1

and

s_2

respectively.
Given

\;{s_{1}^{2}}/{s_{2}^{2}}=\;{4}/{7} ⇒{s_{1}}/{s_{2}}={2}/{√{7}}

Required answer, ratio of perimeters of two squares

=4s_1:4s_2=s_1:s_2=2:√7
