Let the original price of onion per kg be ₹16P.
After reduction of the price by 6.25% the new price of onions per kg = `15P.
Given that 1kg more onions were purchased due to decrease in onion prices.
$\Rightarrow \frac{120}{15\mathit{P}}-\frac{120}{16\mathit{P}}=1$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{P}=\frac{1}{2}$
Hence required answer $16\mathit{P}=\mathit{₹}8$
