(c) Nagarjuna Sagar Dam was not built on the Godavari River. Instead,it is located on the Krishna River in the Nalkonda district of Andhra Pradesh. It was the earliest in the series of large infrastructure project stermed as ‘modern temples’initiated for achieving the Green Revolution in India. It is also one of the earliest multi-purpose irrigation and hydro-electric projects in India.
