(c) Tenure of the Chief Election Commissioner of India is six years or till the age of 65 years,whichever is earlier. Election Commission of India is a permanent and independent Constitutional body established directly by the Constitution of India to ensure fair elections in the country. It is a multi-member body and currently has three members including the Chief Election Commissioner and other election commissioners.
