(b) According to HDR 2013, the percentage of population suffering from multidimensional poverty in India is 53.7%. About 1.5 billion people in 102 developing countries currently covered by the MPI. About 29 per cent of their population live in multidimensional poverty, that is,with at least 33 per cent of the indicators reflecting acute deprivation in health, education and standard of living.
