(c) Dharmapal was the founder ‘Vikramshila Vihar’. Vikramashila was the important centre of learning (Buddhism) in India during the Pala Empire. It was established by King Dharmapal in response to a supposed decline in the quality of scholarship at Nalanda. It was the largest university with more than one hundred teachers and about one thousand students.
