(b) The railway brand water ‘Rail Neer scam’ has been unearthed in Indian Railways. ‘Rail Neer’ scam came to light in October 2015 with a complaint from Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) to the CBI. The private caterers are mandated to supply Rajdhani and Shatabdi Trains with IRCTC’s ‘Rail Neer’ water bottles.But, instead, they supplied other packaged drinking water brands in connivance with the officers of the Railway Department and caused a loss of ₹ 19.55 crores to the government exchequer during the period from January 2013 to December 2014.
