(c) Colorado Plateau is a physiographic province of the Intermontane Plateaus region,extending across the south-western United States and covering the south-eastern half of Utah, extreme western and south-western Colorado, north-western New Mexico and the northern half of Arizona. The province, which occupies about 1,30,000 square miles (3,37,000 square km) is bounded by the Rocky Mountains(north and east), the Great Basin(west) and the Sonoran Desert(south).
