(c) Red Sea is a narrow strip of water extending south-eastward from Suez, Egypt to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which connects with the Gulf of Aden and thence with the Arabian Sea. The Red Sea Rift was formed by the divergence between the African Plate and the Arabian Plate. Axial trough of the Red Sea originated by seafloor spreading.
