British Scientist Robert Edwards’s pioneering works led to the birth of the first test tube baby. Sir Robert Geoffrey Edwards (27th September 1925 – 10th April 2013) was an English physiologist andpioneer in reproductive medicine, and in-vitro fertilisation (IVF)in particular. Along with the surgeon Patrick Steptoe, Edwardssuccessfully pioneered conception through IVF, which led to the birthof Louise Brown- first test tube baby-on 25th July 1978. In 2010,Edwards was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for the development of in vitro”
