The Chairman of the Fourteenth Finance Commission is Y.V. Reddy (former Reserve Bank of India governor) and its members were Sushma Nath, M. Govinda Rao, Abhijit Sen, Sudipto Mundle and A.N. Jha. The Finance Commission is a constitutional body set up under Article 280 of the Constitution. Its primary job is to recommend measures and methods on how revenues need to be distributed between the Centre and the states.
