All the statements related to latitude are true. Rainfall, temperature and vegetation of a place are the functions of latitude, among other factors. The lower the latitude, the greater is the temperature and precipitation, which, in turn, dictate the type of the vegetation present. The higher our latitude, the longer we will see the sun above the horizon, i.e., as the latitude increases (polar circles – north or south), day length can be seen to increase to 24 hours or decrease to zero (depending on the time of the year). Indira Point is a village in the Nicobar district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It was formerly known as Pygmalion point or Parson’s Point. It is the location of the southernmost point of India's territory. It is named after the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It submerged under water during the 2004 Tsunami.
