● An adjournment means the suspension of the work in a sitting for a specified period of time.
◦ It can be hours, days or weeks.
◦ Adjournment sine die means terminating the sitting for an indefinite period of time.
◦ The power of the adjournment and adjournment sine die both lies with the Presiding officer of the House.
● The presiding officer declares adjournment sine die when the working or business of the house is completed.
◦ After a few days, the President issued a notification for the prorogation of the session.
◦ The President can also prorogue the House which is in session.
◦ Adjournment is for terminating the whole session.
